Where’s the Pastry Thin Mints kicks?

On season 4, episode 9 of Run’s House, Angela and Vanessa Simmons come up with an idea to support the Girls Scouts of America: they’ll design a Thin Mint shoe as part of their Pastry Collection.

Pastry Thin Mint

Their stepmom, Justine Simmons, was a Girl Scout herself and she was the first to encourage the Simmons sisters to sponsor the organization.

Vanessa and Angela are featured on the Girls Scouts website.

From the Girls Scouts:

“The leadership skills girls develop in Girl Scouting will serve them for the rest of their lives. Financial Literacy can help girls gain the confidence they need to ultimately take control of their own financial future. At the Girl Scouts, girls develop business and money management skills through programs such as the Girl Scout Cookie program, the leading business and economic literacy program for girls. Many successful business women today say they got their start selling Girl Scout cookies.”

So where’s the Thin Mint kicks?
Our sources say they’ll be released around summer ’08. We’ll keep you informed as we find out more.

We love that the girls are taking advantage of their celebrity to do something good. The girls selected Financial Literacy and entrepeneurship as their sponsored Girl Scout programs. Angela and Vanessa have a video on the Girl Scouts site on how to start your own business.

Have you ever thought about starting your own business? What would it be?

FEB 11 UPDATE: The shoes will be out this summer. They’ll be green, smell like mint, and come in a environmentally friendly box!

I am a third year Brownie, getting ready to fly up to Juniors in the spring. (I was a Daisy Girl Scout in Kindegarten too) My mom and my grandmother were Girl Scouts. My mom is my Troop leader. I love Girl Scouts! My troop has learned so much and we always have a blast!
I can’t wait to get a pair of the Pastry Thin Mints Kicks! They are going to be so cool! Hopefully they will get here in time for me to wear them to Girl Scout camp this summer. I earned my campership from selling cookies last year! Please save a pair for me,
Thanks Angela & Vanessa!!

I was born into Girl Scouting thanks to my Mother who was a leader at the time of my birth and remainded in the Girl Scouting community until I was in middle school. I am now 26 and have had my own troop for several years now. I just want you to know that I am thankful for the good publicity that you girls have provided for the GSUSA organization. My council just started taking Cookie Orders yesterday and my girls are desperate for your new Thin Mint shoes. They can’t wait for them to come out. They are all setting their sales goals with the purchase of the shoes in mind. We can’t wait to see them!

i am a girl scout too and i think it is great that you guys are supporting the girl scouts.i am also glad that you guys are coming out with a new “flavored” shoe because that means i get to add a new shoe to my collection of pastry sneakers and bags.for school in my computer class my teacher wanted my class to go on google to get a cover from time magazine and put it on publisher in microsoft word and on the cover to put who we think should be the person of the year because onthe magazine cover aws a picture that “you” on the front(us america)so on the picture on the front i put a picture of you Vanessa and Angela on the front and that has you guys with yoour sneakers on cakes and yuo guys were smiling.then my teacher said put a reason why my reason was “I chose Vanessa and Angela because throhotu the year they have alot of success with there sneakers jewlery and clothing and other accesories” =)

I can’t wait to get some Thin Mint shoes…and I am old 35 LOL! You all are so sweet on your show and I love your spirit. Maybe you should debut the shoes in Savannah Georgia…where the founder of the girl scouts home is located. Best of luck with your careers! Thank you for sharing your lives and positive family values with all of us!
