Nikki’s Report
There is a delicious new craze sweeping the nation… and it’s not a fancy new flavor at Starbucks. It’s the fresh new flavor… in shoes. With shoes dipped in style, Angela and Vanessa Simmons are hot new spring collection from Pastry, and the reaction from girls across the country has been off the hook.
First stop on their whirlwind promotional tour for the spring collection: Phoenix, Arizona. With about 300 people waiting eagerly to meet the girls, the mood at the Underground Station at Desert Sky Mall was intense and exciting. The fans were wearing all kinds of Pastry shoes, from the Sugar Sprinkle Runners to the Red Velvet kicks. Quite a few already had shopping bags full of Pastry purchases they had just made…while their friends saved their spots in line! To get the crowd even more hyped, the Underground Station had a d.j. from a local station spinning tunes.
One excited 14 year old fan in particular was Mikayla White from Goodyear, Arizona who has been a fan of the girls since Run’s House started airing on MTV 4 years ago. She drove out just to see her favorite stars and had two pairs of Pastry shoes with her. One pair looked fabulous on her feet and the other she had just bought! She certainly looks up to Angela and Vanessa and has her eyes set on stardom herself one day. One thing was for certain, she was very excited to be there and it looked to me that being there made her day… and judging by the crowd she wasn’t the only one to feel that way.
When it was time for Angela and Vanessa to arrive, many had already been waiting hours in line and everyone was anxious and ready to meet the girls. I couldn’t wait to see what they were wearing! Let’s just say: the girls had it going on.
They showed up both with their hot new shorter hairstyles. Angela was sporting great earrings with a red and black top and Vanessa looking fantastic in an all black ensemble. Vanessa was also wearing a Hello Kitty diamond necklace by her auntie, Kimora Lee Simmons. The fans were screaming and it was time to start the autographs. The stars graciously signed Pastry shoe boxes that fans brought in and posters they had available for everyone. Oh, and I can’t forget the lip gloss they handed out too!
I was more than impressed with Angela and Vanessa and think their tour will continue to be a great success as they visit other stores throughout the states. One thing is for sure, there is no shortage of fans interested in what the girls will have available next! In fact, I’m actually getting a little sweet tooth myself… Chocolate Wafer Kicks anyone?

Wnat to know if they are going to make a Raleigh Durham Appearance? Your Pastry shoes has not take off the ground here as well as other places around the country.. My Daughters are still the only four children at their schools wearing them.. Everyone loves them and always give comments about them..
