I just have to say that last night was probably one one the greatest moments of my life, and the smae for americans. This race showed that we african americans are strong individuals that are inteligent and beautiful people. It just shows that all they hard work and effort that we have but in to make our live in the black community better has paid off. we have black president. Obama is going to changed our country in a positive way. I am proud to say he has been elected to be the fouty- fourth persident of the United States of America and the first colored president. This just shows that each and everyone of ushas the ability to saor beyond the bounderies other people make for us and that we can do everything. Martin Luther King made it so that we african americans could run and Obama is making it so that we could fly. I almost cried last night at the news that he was going to be our new president. Obama has made history that everyone will remeber. God bless America!!

 Tay Tay  11.5.2008 | 10:50 am

Yes, Obama is the first African-American President elect this country has ever seen.

Aside from all the controversy that is involved with Obama’s birthplace…

Whether my vote was for Obama or not…

This country should be proud to break down the racial barriers that have governed it for the past 300 years of its existence.

We should be proud to have a diverse country where everyone has an equal opportunity.

We should be proud to say that we have made leaps and bounds for the future generations of our country by opening the door for other colors and genders to run for president.

PRIDE. We should be PROUD.

What saddens me and makes me so angry about the election results is the pure fact that this election was never based on the character of the candidates.

It was never based on the ideals and positions of the candidates.

I looked at the facts, looked at the positions, looked at the moral standards of the candidates… which both men were strong men and commendable in different areas.

But after speaking with multiple people the underlying reasons for voting one way or the other predominately were racist reasons.

Uninformed African-American voters said they voted Obama because he is “one of them”… and they are “sick of white people telling them how to live”

Uninformed White voters said they voted McCain because “they aren’t voting for a black person to come in and ruin their country.

HONESTLY?! ARE YOU PEOPLE REALLY SERIOUS?!

It is this idea of racism that is going to run our country into the ground.

WE ARE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

How can we let this racial division tear our country apart?

I believe Obama will be a great leader and a great president. I do think he will do a great job of accomplishing his goals, which is a lot more than some presidents can say they did.

Its not about black and white.

Maybe Obama is the one that can bring this country to be successful again…

Maybe Obama will bring us out of this recession…

Maybe Obama will be the greatest president in American History…

Who knows?

The point is, racism decided this election.

Uninformed voters decided this election.

I hope Obama pulls this out.

“It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today.
“–Barack Hussein Obama

I hope he can be a defining factor in making this world better, because if not, he’s failed at what he came to do.

And all of you that used racism as the justification of your vote, you will see how completely worthless your vote truly was.

 Allison  11.7.2008 | 5:00 pm

wow Dolly, that is so true, i know black people at my school who wanted obama to win because he is black, but they didn’t even know what he wanted to do with this country. I support obama, because he supports everyone, gay, straight, black, white, i don’t think race should matter in 2008! I don’t put anyone down!

 judge Nettie  11.8.2008 | 7:12 pm

He’s our president!!!!! I’ve never been so proud in my life! USA!!!!!! peace

Dolly Mz February Pastry Fan of the Month  11.11.2008 | 11:49 am

like for real.. all these stupid comments above talkin bout “we’re on top” who’s on top???? “black” people… NO … It just shows that History has been made… Ain’t nobody better than anybody else… So people just need to chill out with all that…

 Kim*uk  11.11.2008 | 12:39 pm

i agree with you dolly, i’m not “black” but do people that are justifying that as a reason to vote realise obama is halfcast. we should all just be proud that we are one step closer to having that change we need so to speak xo

 Allison  11.11.2008 | 12:46 pm

i’m just proud of the USA for not being bias or anything, this is history and i would be proud, but because i’m hispanic doesn’t mean i would vote for someone because of that, you know? I support Obama. I didn’t know people felt the way they do

Dolly Mz February Pastry Fan of the Month  11.11.2008 | 3:21 pm

me and my family voted for obama… because for one… we are democrats… and for two… Mccain was a freakin idiot… I looked into his proposals… and he did not have ONE thing about how he can help the american people… the lower class… he was all about making it easier for those that already have it EASY… Now obama spoke of helping the Average American… He talked about Taxing those more that could afford and and reducing taxes for those who can’t… He spoke about how crooked congress was… HE was speaking TRUTH… and I respect him for that fully…

 Allison  11.11.2008 | 4:09 pm

yeah me too, but one thing, i was thinking about was the stimulus he wants, would he have to raise taxes to get all that money back?!?!

Dolly Mz February Pa  11.13.2008 | 10:10 am

YEa obama plans to raise taxes for those making over 250,000… People that CAN afford it… as opposed to people who make under that who can't… thats why everyone was against him… smaller business that think their gonna have tax increases… ONLY if you make OVER 250,000 a year

 Allison  11.13.2008 | 5:28 pm

oh, well than i don’t have to worry, my parents make less than $100,000 a year COMBINED!!
But I was talking about for everyone, because he wants a stimulus, you know, like the economic stimulus check, so he is giving out all that money, so i thought he would have to raise taxes for a lot of people to get the money back, not just over $250,000

 Cutiefran123  12.9.2008 | 12:22 pm

I love barack obama don't really know the issues he represents but i kno that this is a big step up from us being slaves 200 hundred years ago now we are presidents and a threat to all those people that are still livin with that slave-master mentality ….he is so inspirational

 884468  12.10.2008 | 11:52 am

 884468  12.10.2008 | 11:55 am

I'm really proud of Barack Obama.

 Kiana  12.10.2008 | 11:57 am

I am glad Obama had won, got his dream and is also making history. But the comment that everybody is asking is: Is it his leadership or his race?

 irvzwifey82507  12.11.2008 | 12:13 pm

I was crying when I found out Obama won. It made me believe that anything can happen. We finally made history. All that hard work that Martin Luther King and other African American historical figures made, finally paid off. We didn't only make history, but now Obama could show everyone how good an African American president can be. I know that he will do a good job and I know that nobody will regret choosing him.

 People45  12.11.2008 | 12:20 pm

I agree.

 whosdatgrl87  12.14.2008 | 7:50 am

I'm glad that we have for one made history but we elected a self mad man. He knows the struggle of the working class
