Anybody watch the Grammys? You know Vanessa and Angela Simmons were there to catch the action firsthand.

V&A have always got to be sharpening their fashion skills. They need to stay on top of the daytime casual look, because of Pastry. But the sisters have also said in interviews that someday they want to include dressier looks as well.

Do the Simmons sisters have a nighttime game too?

Let’s find out and take a closer look at the ensembles our Pastry entrepreneurs wore down the red carpet on Sunday.

Pastry Fashionista Breakdown

Vanessa Simmons’ outfit: Vanessa just hit it out of the park on every level with this getup, head to toe.

• Dress: Loving the yellow silk which makes her skin glow. The ruffles, the small train (which Angela is stepping on HEELLLOO) and the belt to pull it all together, it’s perfection.
• Accessories: Thank god she got this right too. Her dress is the centerpiece, so the accessories can’t be too crazy. You should only have one focal point. She could have gone with contrasts, like purples or reds, but that would be distracting. She went with tan strappy sandals to match the belt, and a simple gold clutch.
• Hair: Nessa’s got it mid-length straight with a little bit of a feather, which is just right with the retro 70’s one-shoulder look which is so hot right now.
• Miscellaneous: Not a huge deal, but I would not have gone with pink (or is that red) nail polish on the toes with that outfit. French pedicure or a nude color would have been perfect.

Vanessa’s Grade: A

Here’s another look:

Angela Simmons’ outfit: It’s cute and Angela looks adorable, but overall I’m just not as inspired by it.

• Dress: The color is nice but the design is a little on the plain side. The ivory white taffeta looks nice against Angela’s skin. The bubble skirt with the thin gold belt is right on target with this season. But still… eh.
• Hair: this is the longest length we’ve seen on Angela. It looks great on her and I’m digging the center part with no bangs.
• Accessories: Here’s where I would have gone over the top with the shoes or the necklace to punch up the look, because the dress is so simple. Crazy bold heels or a dramatic necklace or bracelet. The patent red heels are nice but they don’t put your eyes out. Can’t see her necklace too well, it looks classy but not catchy.

Angela’s Grade: B
