Pastry detective strikes again! Props to Superfan Allison who sent this rather curious picture of a pair of Pastry shoe she found on the internet. Like Allison, I’ve never seen this kind of Pastry before. Take a look:
It’s got the famous Pastry logo on the side soles and another Pastry label on the sides of body and on the tongue. I wish I could see the bottom of the soles. I kinda like the silver metallic thing they have goin’ on with the geometric triangles, and I also like the front part of the soles which are metallics… but I don’t know about the laces. Liking the blue, silver and white colorings with a dash of pink lining, and I’m guessing they have pink soles as well. That’s what I’m saying, I like ‘em but not crazy over ‘em.
So, Pastryheads, I have a few questions for you regarding these mystery shoes:
1. Do you think they’re real?
2. If you do, have you seen them anywhere? What are they called?
3. If they’re new and still nameless, what would you name ‘em?
4. Worst case scenario: if they’re fake, would you still get ‘em?

The Pastry Fruit Tart Messenger has a style all it’s own. We have not seen this look in our Pastry Totes before. I call that good. This look is a bit more functional and still has a girly look to that can go with us anywhere. Especially works well for those of us who like a tote and messenger in one. Simply remove the straps and instant tote.
The colors are perfect and not over bearing either. Purple, Pink with floral print, and a splash of yellow for a lemony twist. The gray on the front looks a little utilitarian, but amazingly it works well with all the other colors. To top off this treat Vanessa and Angela Simmons gave us a removable “Your Pastry ” charm for fun.

Most folks know that Vanessa and Angela Simmons’ dad, Rev. Run, was the leader of the legendary hip hop group Run DMC. Recently it was announced that Run DMC would be bestowed place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well I’ve got some more news. The iconic group will be inducted into Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by rapper Eminem on April 4th, 2009. Other big names will be there such as Jimmy Page, Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones and soul legend Smokey Robinson.
Run DMC is not only recognized as one of the biggest acts in hip hop history, the group also has been acclaimed for mashing up hip hop with rock music. Look this up: their album titled Kings of Rock which was released in 1985, has a track called “Can You Rock It Like This”. The video clip portrayed the trio wrecking a fake Rock and Roll museum, and this was intentionally made as a symbol of their strong desire to destroy the genre barriers in popular music. The following year Run DMC collaborated with Aerosmith in a song titled “Walk This Way”, which was a remake from Aerosmith’s 1975 hit. The song became the first hip hop single to break the top 5. Chart-topping groups like Faith No More, Korn and Limp Bizkit would follow in Run DMC’s footsteps, 20-30 years later.
