Your fabulous girls, Vanessa and Angela Simmons were spotted at the Macy’s 209 Passport Fashion Inform Event at Barker Hangar on September 25, 2009 in Santa Monica, California.
The event is about raising funds for HIV/AIDS education, awareness, research and direct care services. Macy’s Passport is not a new event, as it was founded by Dame Elizabeth Taylor in 1982 as a small employee-only cafeteria fashion show. Since 1988, the show became a fundraiser, and do you know how much money they have raised since?
Over $28 million!
So each year, Macy’s delivers a campaign promoting an important message, and within the event, there’s fashion, live theater and food! This year’s “Fashion +Compassion Come Together against domestic hunger” theme benefits six charities:
The AIDS Emergency Fund
Glide Memorial Church
Huckleberry Youth Programs
New Conservatory Theater Center of San Francisco
Project Open Hand
San Francisco School Health Programs Department
So many good causes and so many charities to contribute to, yet the Simmons Sisters are always there. Props to them for participating in the event!
