Halloween was just a few days ago and to some people -or websites- it’s still hard to not talk about it. With the abundance of pictures from various Halloween events attended by celebs, it leaves PastryShoesCollection.com to do nothing but, well, talk about it! LOL. There’s no best or worst Halloween costume here, as in the lineup there are only those memorable enough to keep everybody talking -or taking reference for next year’s festivities. Let’s start!

Usually you don’t wear your Halloween costume, the costume wears you. But that’s not the case with Kim Kardashian, who was a side-splitting image of Disney’s world-famous Princess Jasmine from the animated picture “Aladdin”. Speaking of trying so hard to look like somebody, take a peek at Monique Coleman. Can you guess who she tried to be?
All we know is, Jay-Z won’t be putting a ring on that. But nice try. Speaking of Jay-Z, he opted to keep his costume simple during his Halloween night concert in Toronto, Canada.
By the way, have you heard Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” feat. Alicia Keys? Listen carefully around the 0:30 mark.

So guess what, maybe we figured out what’s on Angela Simmons’ iPod lately. Yup, maybe you missed this one but Angela’s boyfriend, Skillz, just released a new mixtape called “Recession Proof” on October 27th. The Grammy Award Winning Duo recently signed a label imprint deal with SRC/Universal Records and have been pretty busy working in the studio with Nelly, Hurricane Chris, Bun B and Pitbull.
There are totally cool tracks on their mixtape featuring Slim Thug, Bun B, Talib Kweli, Hurricane Chris, Slim formally of 112, Big Tuck, Krayzie Bone and lots of dope stars.
Play of Play-N-Skillz stated:
“We titled this mixtape “Recession Proof” because our goal is to motivate people to stay strong in this recession and not let the situation get the best of them.”
Seeing that Angela Simmons came from a family of good achievements, it’s no surprise that her boyfriend Oscar Salinas a.k.a. Skillz has also proven his skills in making good music. Play-N-Skillz have been recipients of an ASCAP Award and scored their second Grammy for producing Lil’ Wayne’s hit single “Got Money” featuring T-Pain.

Hello Global Grinders!
It has been a while since my last post but I’ve been super busy traveling all over the place..sheessh
Now that I have a moment to sit down and reflect, I wanted to talk to you about something I have recently noticed. I am a lil surprised at the number of people that seem to disapprove of the relationship with my boyfriend. I find this reality to be kind of hard to accept. There are times when I notice people giving us long hard stares and those stares are usually from my own people!
Honestly, I wish everyone could benefit from the beauty that can come from experiences that happen outside of your own comfort zone. It is truly a beautiful thing that can add so much to your life.
Give it a shot and you can learn so much from a person you never thought you’d talk to or have something in common with. I’m not just talking about dating but about all types of relationships.
Sometimes society makes it hard for us to be comfortable enough in our own skin to embrace others who are different.
I am a firm believer that we are all the same.
Basically what I’m saying is love everyone. Rise above the hate.
I don’t feel like this subject gets enough attention, so I thought I would share this with my GG family.

Wow, this is rather unexpected. Ang and Skillz got haters? Seriously? Aren’t they the sweetest couple ever? It’s just silly to make their relationship a racial issue. And yes, we are all the same and love isn’t limited to some groups. People should be able to love anyone they want.
Pastry Shoes co-founder, Angela Simmons, began dating Skillz, a Dallas-based producer, since last year and they’ve been nothing but cute with each other. The Simmons sisters are both in loving relationships -Angela and Skillz, Vanessa Simmons and Mike Wayans- and both sisters look happy and fabulous.

So we all know Pastry and Baby Phat are kinda related because Pastry is owned by Vanessa and Angela Simmons, and Baby Phat is owned by their aunt, Kimora Lee Simmons. But today we think they’re almost too closely related. Take a look at this upcoming Baby Phat sneaker held by Baby Phat’s newest spokesperson, Kristina DeBarge.
Now, don’t you feel it’s a little bit similar to the Pastry Black Current Vulc Glam Pie Hi-tops?

a. Sorry, aunt Kimora, The Baby Phat sneaker is nice, but I’ll be staying true to Nessa and Ang, and my Pastry shoes.

They do everything together, from growing up to forming their own shoe line, Pastry shoes, and starring in their own reality show, Daddy’s Girls. Vanessa and Angela Simmons’ lives seem to go really well these days, and here they are now sharing their thoughts about being successful and how family and sisterhood plays a big part in the process.
Vanessa and Angela sure have become the role models of teenagers everywhere. Although they have divorced parents, both are blessed with wonderful stepparents and do note Angela’s thought:
“To me, though, that’s [having a big family] not the only thing that can get you success. Say you don’t have a big family, you’re gonna have to cling on to the ones that you do have and who will always be there for you and go to them for advice. I mean, if you only have your grandma, that person will be there with you throughout everything. Because I know some people don’t have the luxury of having a large family, but we just happen to have one, so yeah, it’s definitely been a help.”

The Simmons sisters are serious about their relationships and they’re always pleasant to look at whenever they’re with their boos. Angela Simmons was spotted with her Dallas-based producer boyfriend, Skillz, as the couple went shopping the other day. Ang looked fab with that boots and Chanel tote bag.
If the newly-leaked video is really a teaser of the new season of Daddy’s Girls, then don’t we all hope Skillz will make an appearance in an episode or two? Afterall, Vanessa Simmons’ boyfriend Mike Wayans got enough camera time -not to mention a quality time with Dad Rev. Run. Maybe Skillz can spend some time with Rev. Run in a studio, jamming! Won’t that be a great idea?
