Daddy’s Girls Ep. 5: “Birthday Presence”

Don’t miss: All new episode of Daddy’s Girls TONIGHT. Monday Feb 9, 10:30pm local time.

Last week’s episode of MTV’s Daddy’s Girls revolved around juggling work and family obligations.

First we heard how Angela and Vanessa Simmons came up with yet another brilliant idea, and that is to integrate their Pastry Shoes products and clothing with actual dessert recipes.  This idea has to be presented by the end of the week to a bunch of important buyers.

Coming up with new ideas for their growing business and preparing stuff for the big presentation made Vanessa and Angela very busy.  It got to the point where they neglect their doggies Juicy and Foofy, and forget to make appointments for them at the grooming salon.

Angela was a bit upset about the mix-up.  Cousin Jessica suggested they get an assistant and offered to help them find one.

In the meantime dad Rev. Run reminded the girls about his upcoming birthday.  The girls panicked and then decided to greenlight Jessica finding an assistant for them to arrange travel back to Saddle River.

However, after talking about it later, they decided to call home and say that they probably can’t visit for Rev Run’s birthday.

russy

Russy picked up the phone. Russy is sooo cute!  But he made Van and Ang felt bad because he said that ever since they moved to L.A., they don’t visit anymore.

Jessica realized that finding an assistant for her bosses isn’t going to be an easy task, so she gathered Alycia and Lynn around to help her out in recruiting the assistant.  Oh yeah, have I mentioned that Lynn is back?  My wish is granted.  She looks awesome.  Watch out Alycia, you got competition!

Meanwhile, Vanessa and Angela got cracking when they found out that the presentation got moved up. It also meant they’d be able to go home for dad’s birthday.  V&A started trying out to whip up some delicious Pastry recipes…

I laughed hard when Angela said Vanessa looked like “Rattatouille”.  Have you watched that movie?  The mouse was pretty cute!

But the fun didn’t last long, when Rev. Run called and said that Russy told him that Vanessa and Angela are not gonna be able to go home for his birthday. And amazingly, Rev. Run understood and wanted them to concentrate on their business first.

Back at the Pastry office, Jessica, Lynn and Alycia interviewed some of the candidates. Alycia flirted with Tony, one of the prospects. Uh the guy’s 34, talk about cradle robbing!

As much as I didn’t like Alycia’s blatant flirtation stunt, I still dig her Pastry bag. Do you know what bag it is?  Yep, it’s the Pastry Status Luggage Bag.

In the end, Angela and Vanessa decided to get realistic and called their dad to tell him to confirm that they won’t be able to make it home for his birthday.

Poor girls.  They looked pretty bummed.  But then as Rev. Run said, “Try your best and forget the rest.”  As they arrived at the Pastry office, they met up with the top 3 candidates.

While there, Angela started looking for her favorite green tea which had gone AWOL. Tony got up and left which at first they thought was rude. But as he came back with a glass of green tea, honey and lime, you know the girls immediately liked his thoughtfulness. As for me personally, I’d have to backhand him because everyone knows you do NOT put ish in green tea ok. But otherwise he gets an A for effort.

Even Juicy knew Tony was the right man for the job.

Tony was of course hired. His first gig was to help the girls find the best present for Rev Run. If I were him I’d be intimidated by that responsibility. Buy a gift for the founder of Run DMC? Better be GOOD!

Anyway, fast forward to presentation day… I sooooooo love the girls in their professional outfits.  I mean, look at them! Wooo Angela’s hair is LONG.

Angela looked a little tired, but still FAB.

Did you see the episode? Do you remember who had these Pastry Shoes on?

From left to right: the Secret Sundaes, the Neo White Berry Fab Cookies and the Glam Pies.

The presentation was a huge success, as you can see for yourself: check the smiles on the buyers’ faces.

Last but not least, things at home are also working out.  Daddy Rev. Run loved the gift the girls sent. Although I can’t believe he didn’t already have a turntable, but whatevs. LOL
