Pastry Shoes entrepeneurs and mini-moguls Angela and Vanessa Simmons are known to be dog lovers. As you may already know (or seen in MTV’s  “Daddy’s Girls”), the sisters have two dogs named Fuffi and Juicy. Anybody can have dogs, but to love the species beyond feeding and cuddling them? That you’ll have to ask Angela. Yesterday she posted a touching post on her blog and you will understand a lot more about the cruel evil thing called “Puppy Mills”.  Angela is inspired, and she’s hoping that you will too.  Read for yourselves.

Hello there Global Grinders. I have something very interesting to share. So today i was in the middle of getting my nails done and a woman over heard my friend and i talking about rescue dogs. So she chimed in and come to find out the dog she had happen to be from a puppy mill. A puppy mill is a breeding facility that produces purebred puppies in large numbers. Basically these animals have minimal veterinary care, poor quality of food, lack of human socialization, overcrowded cages and also at this same place they kill dogs they dont want. I was blown away by what her dog had been through. The dogs leg had been amputated and vocal cords had been cut out with scissors. The dog had a number tattooed in its ear, pretty much the dog was property before she rescued her. To top it off the dog had been in a cage for 8 years and produced puppies 2 times a year until she was rescued. I mean its so sick what these animals go through.

The whole point of me telling you this is to raise our awareness as a community we need to come together and save these animals from out of these shelters. I need everyone who can make a difference to help make a difference. Instead of going to the animal store go to your local animal shelter, these animals need their lives to be saved. There are so many dogs that need a home and a loving one at that, I recently went with a friend to a shelter and saved a dog and cats life. Your doing a good deed why not help ? So next time you think of going to buy a cute little puppy , dog ,or cat think about the life you can save at your local shelter. Help save lives.

I will personally never go buy a dog, for now on i will make it my duty to save these animals lives.

For the longest time i wasn’t aware of animal shelters and what happens to dogs in them , but now that i know why not reach out to everyone else to make a difference. The woman i happen to run into wrote a book on the dog she rescued its called a rare breed of love by jana kohl (herself). Nothing is better then meeting a person with a pure heart. She truly had this passion for animals and it made me excited to know that there are people workng around the clock to help save animals. i was inspired and touched today by what she told me.

There is way too much more to write, but i must say this will be a start to something new for me. 🙂 theres nothing better in this world then to give and help. Plus how can it hurt animals are so innocent and they dont have a choice,so why not have a voice for them.

Thanks guys love ya 🙂

Angela
