Diggy Simmons Shades

Following the tracks of his older sisters – Pastry Shoes founders, Vanessa and Angela Simmons- Diggy Simmons has been pretty busy gearing up for his clothing and shoe line which was rumored to either be named: “Space Age” or “Space Cadets”.  However, Diggy recently mentioned in his blog that he’s pulling out the two names and is planning to replace them with something way cooler.  As quoted from his blog:

Wussup everyone I’m just chillin busy with school and other things. Had a meeting today for the line. It went really well and no one knows this yet but the name of the brand is neither space age or space cadet anymore in my eyes its WAY doper it captures me and people can say it’s just gonna be another BBC or BAPE yes inspired by of course but I’m gonna innovate a whole new culture in fashion. The sneakers were great that I looked at today there’s just always something that has to be tweaked or made better.

Diggy Simmons meeting

Whoa, looks like Dig’s meeting about some serious stuff.  And speaking of serious, Diggy has entered the working world, involved in meetings and all just like his sisters, Vanessa and Angela.  These Simmons kids never fail to amaze, don’t they?  They start young, with bubbling ideas and original fashion items and truly create their own trend.

Any thoughts about Dig’s upcoming line?  Are you curious just how dope is the dope kicks he’s censoring?  Have you heard anything about this?  Share with all of us here!

Run D.M.C. Goes Broadway!

Run DMC

When talking about Vanessa and Angela Simmons, we all know that the two sisters are daughters of hip hop legend, Rev. Joseph “Run” Simmons, better known as Rev. Run.  He formed the hip hop group Run D.M.C. in the 1980’s along with Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and the late Jason “Jam-Master Jay” Mizell.  The group became an 80’s sensation and is now recognized as one of the pioneers of the hip hop genre.  In fact, Run D.M.C. has been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, a recognition that’s very significant in the music world.

It just came to PastryShoesCollection.com’s radar, that Run D.M.C. will be the title of an upcoming Broadway musical.  Producer, Paula Wagner, thinks that ast the first hip hop act to cross over and became a major influence in American music, the Run D.M.C story will be told in a unique manner.  Paula, who’s also the producer of “Mission: Impossible” movies, “The Last Samurai” and “Vanilla Sky”, expressed her delight on the possibility to work with Run DMC.

“I feel their story lends itself perfectly to the stage. This project has been a passion of mine for some time and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with them.”

Vanessa Simmons once starred in a play.  Will she be involved in this project?  No words about that yet, and again, PastryShoesCollection.com will fine tune its radar to let you know should there be any progress.

Can’t wait to see the play, though!

Run DMC Street Renaming Ceremony – Videos

Add to GlobalGrind!

As previously reported by PastryShoesCollection.com, Run DMC was honored to have their group’s name as a street name in their old neighborhood in Hollis a couple of weeks ago.  If you weren’t there for the historic event, here are some videos from the cool people at RapRadar.  First up: The street-sign unveiling.

Rev. Run said a few words, looking a little nostalgic as he talked about how he looked up to the late DJ Jam-Master Jay.  Touching.  Next is DMC.

And last but not least, Jay-Master J’s mom.

It’s always heartwarming to see a legendary group that doesn’t forget where they came from.  Congratulations once again to Run DMC, and we all hope that Hollis will deliver the next generation of Hip Hop legends!

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week Swagger

Add to GlobalGrind!

A lot of you who visit PastryShoesCollection.com might notice that whenever the topic is about The New York Fashion Week, all spotlights were aimed at Vanessa and Angela Simmons.  That’s going to change as today it’s all about Diggy Simmons, who was seen at the major fashion shows -he even sat front row- at the major fashion event with his uncle, Russell Simmons.  He was also seen with his beautiful sisters, Pastry creators and reality TV stars, Vanessa and Angela.  Here are the Diggy Simmons – sighting at The New York Fashion Week 2009.

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week 06

See, this guy is serious when it comes to fashion.  How many teenagers are lucky enough to sit front row in NY Fashion Week?  Not much!  It’s lucky that Diggy knows (and related) to the right people in the fashion biz, such as his uncle, Russell Simmons and also sisters Vanessa and Angela who are also frequent visitors of the event.

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week 07

Let’s take a closer look at Dig’s outfit.

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week 04

Nice.  Is that a Melody Ehsani ring he’s wearing?

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week 02

Diggy seems to love this cardigan so much.  It looks mighty cool on him, as well.  To wear it more than once is not a problem, as long as you pair it right.  And Diggy pulled it off!

Diggy Simmons Fashion Week 08

Diggy got to hang out with his uncle, a powerful man in urban culture and hip hop, Russell Simmons, and also his cousins Ming and Aoki Lee Simmons.

Diggy Simmons Raps: “She Don’t Want a Man”

Add to GlobalGrind!

If you like Keri Hilson and Asher Roth’s track: “She Don’t Want a Man”, well you’re not the only one.  Diggy Simmons loves it too and he made a version of his own.  Check it out:

Diggy sounds pretty awesome!  Talent must flow real good in the Simmons family.  It started with Dad, Rev. Run Simmons, the pioneer of hip hop with his legendary group: Run DMC and on to Jojo Simmons who’s doing well with his group Team Blackout.  Angela Simmons attempted the singing track with her single “Center of Attention” but hasn’t been seen returning to the studio (don’t we all hope she will?) and now… another rapper from the Simmons family has emerged:  Diggy Simmons.

Will Russy Simmons follow suit?  We’ll just have to wait, won’t we?

Tell us, Pastryheads: I think Diggy’s version of “She Don’t Want a Man”…

a.  …is AWESOME!! I wish he’d do more songs!
b. …could use some improvement, he obviously got talent and I’ll be looking forward to his music.
c. …is ok, but it’s better that he pursue his artistic talent like fashion design.

Angela Simmons Riding The Manta Roller Coaster in Florida – The Video

Add to GlobalGrind!

Remember that PastryShoesCollection.com reported that the Simmons family went to Orlando, Florida for a family vacation?  Rev. Run took his family there and watched as Angela, Diggy, Russy and Angela’s boo: Skillz, board the Manta, the newest rollercoaster ride at Sea World, Orlando.  We’re probably going to see this on their reality show: Run’s House.  Vanessa Simmons wasn’t there to join them -probably busy working on Pastry Shoes or  filming their other reality show: Daddy’s Girls. Here’s the video.

LOL! Angela looked pretty nervous, but it’s brave of her to even let herself get strapped on that hanging seat.  Diggy looked pretty excited, and so does Russy.  However, to those wanting to see more of Skillz, well, you’re gonna have to settle with just a little bit of him there.  As for the ride, did you know that The Manta’s highest peak is 43 feet and speeds up to 56 miles per hour?  And it can take 1500 passengers an hour.  So, are you scared now?

But here’s a question:

If you’re about to board a roller coaster, who would you rather sit beside you?

a. Angela Simmons
b. Diggy Simmons
c. Russy simmons
